Childcare - Under Development

The sloping roof form is the centrepiece of this austere childcare centre design, with the volume of the building stripped back to its foundations, the materiality and sharp geometric forms become the focal point of the scheme. Large glazed areas allow deep natural light penetration into the internal spaces, while overhanging eaves provide shade from the harsh summer heat and maintain a stable interior temperature.
The implementation of a split level system in the interior allows for the delineation of areas programmatically, with varying age levels being fragmented into their own specific space. Communal spaces are maintained, particularly in the playground in order to encourage cross-play between age groups.
